When testing five of the most popular small and midsize pickups in their crew cab configurations, none were able to score any higher than “acceptable.” What the OEMs would normally be aiming for is the IIHS’ “good” rating, which requires that there isn’t an excessive risk of injury to the head, neck, chest or thigh—including the second row dummies.
